Some 500 vehicles were stopped from a "street takeover" in Connecticut by awaiting police who had been tipped off about the event. The incident took place in Shelton on Saturday, Dec. 9, in the area of Research Drive. According to Det. Richard Bango, of the Shelton Police, detectives learned that a street takeover was planned to take place on Saturday. A 21-year-old Bridgeport woman was nabbed for a string of crimes that started with a robbery at the Shelton Walmart. According to Det. Richard Bango, of the Shelton Police, the arrest of Keyarra Burnett-Johnson stems from an incident that occurred at Walmart located at 465 Bridgeport Ave in Shelton on Wednesday, March 22. Man Faces Prostitution Charges After Forcing Woman To Shelton Hotel, Police Say
A 28-year-old Connecticut man was charged with promoting prostitution after he allegedly forced a woman from one hotel to another against her will. New Haven County resident Daqwon Graham, of Ansonia was arrested by Shelton Police on Tuesday, Feb. 21. The arrest stems from a complaint Shelton Police Department received where a victim was reportedly taken from a New London County hotel against her will to a Shelton hotel on Bridgeport Avenue, said Det. Clerks At Seven Fairfield County Businesses Busted Selling Tobacco, E-Cigarettes To Minors
Employees at seven businesses were busted selling tobacco and e-cigarettes to minors during a special sting operation, police in Fairfield County announced. In late April, in Shelton, law enforcement agencies conducted unannounced compliance inspections at 17 locations to see if clerks would sell to underage buyers. Of the 17 locations, seven were found to be non-compliant and offending clerks were ticketed and fined $300. Two people were extricated after their car crashed through a barrier and fell 12 feet to a roadway below in Fairfield County. A Connecticut man has been arrested in connection with a series of alleged commercial burglaries in Fairfield County.
