CT Storm Drain Explosion Leads To Bomb Scare A storm drain explosion in a Connecticut city led to a bomb scare after a suspicious device was found. The incident occurred in New Haven County around 6 p.m., Mondy, April 29, in the area of Cross Street at Women's Way in Meriden. According to Lt. Darrin McKay of the Meriden Police, officers found smoke coming from the drain and determined it did not appear overly large.  No victims were located, and no one appeared injured in the incident. Investigation Underway After Possible Grenade Found Buried In CT Yard Authorities are investigating after a possible grenade was found buried in a yard in Connecticut.  Police in Hartford County responded to a location on Troy Road in South Windsor at about 2:45 p.m. on Monday, April 18, according to the South Windsor Police Department.  A man, who was checking the property with a metal detector, reported that he found what appeared to be a grenade buried about a foot under the grass in the front yard, police said.  Police evacuated the area and closed Troy Road between Rye Street and Brookfield Street. Shortly before 6:15 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 28 in Hampshire County, Smith College in Northampton announced that the threat had been made against Burton Hall, which sits in the heart of the campus.
