Charles Dolan, Founder Of HBO, Cablevision, Dies At 98 Charles Francis Dolan, a pioneer in the cable television industry and founder of HBO and Cablevision, died at 98. Dolan died Thursday, Dec. 28, of natural causes, surrounded by his loved ones. Born Oct. 16, 1926, in Cleveland, Ohio, Dolan began his career producing and distributing sports and industrial films. In the early 1960s, he founded Sterling Manhattan Cable, the first company to wire buildings for cable access in New York City. Now his son is charged with the assault that killed him, the BBC reported. New York City resident Henry McGowan, age 30, of Brooklyn, is accused of killing his father, 66-year-old John McGowan, of New Canaan, on Tuesday, Nov. 12, the outlet said.  The New York Times reported that Henry flew to Ireland earlier this week to stay at Ballyfin Demesne, a hotel in County Laois. CT Filmmakers Up For Emmy For Documentary On ABC Journalist Nearly Killed In Iraq Two young Connecticut filmmakers have made it to the finals for a Student Emmy for their documentary on ABC journalist Bob Woodruff, who nearly died covering the war in Iraq and his work to help troops who suffered the same fate as him.  Emily Sedgwick and Devan Jordan, both 2024 Sacred Heart Greenwich alumnae, made the movie titled "Upon Return." The documentary won-out over thousands of entries to make the finals for the illustrious prize.  Woodruff was riding on top of a tank in 2006 in Iraq when it was hit by an IED. In all, five billionaires call the Nutmeg State home.  Steve Cohen, who runs Point72 Asset Management headquartered in Stamford, was ranked 39th among the richest Americans, and the richest person in Connecticut.  According to Forbes, the 68-year-old Greenwich resident is worth an estimated $21.3 billion, a massive increase from when he was worth $13.6 million in 2019.   Cohen purchased the New York Mets in 2020.  Related:…
