Popular CT Restaurant Destroyed, Other Businesses Burned In Early Morning Fire A Connecticut bistro was gutted in a fast-moving fire early Friday morning, March 7, and other businesses were damaged before firefighters could put it out, authorities said. Stamford firefighters responded to Bedford Street around 4:45 a.m. and found smoke pouring from Chez Vous Bistro, a popular French restaurant on the corner of Spring Street. Flames licked the walls and burned through the ceiling of the building, which is home to multiple businesses. The dramatic scene unfolded at 5:15 a.m. when firefighters were dispatched to the blaze at 17 Clinton Ave., authorities said. The Stamford Fire Department said crews arrived within three minutes to find smoke and flames pouring from a first-floor unit. Neighbors reported seeing a man trapped at a rear window. Multiple Vehicles Burst Into Flames At Stamford Parking Lot Fire officials are investigating after several vehicles were found on fire at a parking lot and storage area for a local towing company in Fairfield County. The incident occurred in Stamford around 10:25 a.m., Saturday, June 22, in the area of 400 Fairfield Ave. According to Capt. Philip Hayes of the Stamford Fire Department, the West Side Fire Station, arrived at the scene and found a fire involving several vehicles inside the parking lot and storage area.
