Police in Fairfield County are investigating after a 59-year-old woman was struck and killed while walking near a cemetery. The incident occurred in Norwalk around 9:20 a.m., Friday, June 21, at 81 Riverside Ave. (Riverside Cemetery). According to Lt. Tomasz Podgorski of the Norwalk Police, officers responded to the area following a 911 call of an accident with injuries in which a pedestrian was struck. Metro-North Train Becomes Tangled In Wires, Causing Delays, Small Fire In Norwalk
A Metro-North train got tangled in overhead power wires in Fairfield County, causing a small brush fire and stopping the train, causing delays. The incident occurred in Norwalk around 4:45 p.m. Monday, May 20, on an eastbound train near Moore Place, carrying passengers who had become entangled in the overhead wires that supply operational power to the train. Blaze Breaks Out At Restaurant In Norwalk
A fire broke out at a mixed-occupancy building with a restaurant in Fairfield County. The blaze began around 10:10 a.m. Sunday, May 19, at the two-story structure in Norwalk. The building had a Mexican eatery on the first floor and apartments on the second floor at Liberty Square. When responders arrived at the scene, heavy smoke was coming from the roof, with flames coming out the top of a large kitchen exhaust system, the Norwalk Fire Department said.
