Police ID CT Woman Hit, Killed By Car: 'You Leave A Large Void In Our Lives'

Authorities have identified the 37-year-old mother of one who was killed after being hit by a car in Danbury over the weekend.

Diana Malla Pindo, of Danbury, was hit around 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, near Newtown Road and Eagle Road, Danbury police said. 

Paramedics rushed Malla Pindo to Danbury Hospital, where she later died of her injuries on Sunday. 

The driver of the car remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators, Danbury police said. 

Malla Pindo, who is reportedly a single mother from Ecuador, was walking to work when she was hit, according to a Latin American news site. 

A GoFundMe to help pay for her funeral expenses and to repatriate her remains has raised more than $4,200 as of Monday morning. 

Loved ones posted memorials to the woman on social media as word of her death circulated.

Funeral arraignments for Malla Pindo were not announced by publication deadline.
