A major brush fire over at least a dozen acres in the Hudson Valley produced smoke that spread across the New York border into Connecticut. Residents across the Northeast were dazzled by the Northern Lights, visible Thursday evening, Oct. 10. The purple and pink lights were visible due to a Solar Storm, or a Coronal Mass Ejection from the sun on Tuesday, Oct. 8 which arrived in the area Thursday.
