Dangerous Tire Spikes Planted on CT Roads — Police Warn Drivers Someone has been planting dangerous tire spikes on roads near driveways in Tolland County, and police want the public to be on the lookout. Coventry police say they’ve received two complaints in recent months about the small, sharp devices being left in the roadway or near a driveway. The spikes, which can puncture tires and potentially cause serious damage, were found in separate parts of town and months apart. “These can be purchased online from known retailers,” Coventry Police said in a statement.
