CT Man Nabbed Driving 118 MPH On I-84, Police Say
A Connecticut man was nabbed allegedly driving 118 mph in a 65 mph zone on a busy interstate roadway. The incident occurred in Tolland County at 9:40 p.m., Monday, Aug. 12, in the eastbound lanes of I-84 in Vernon near Exit 66. According to the Connecticut State Police, a trooper assigned to Troop C in Tolland was engaged in proactive traffic enforcement efforts on I-84 when he spotted a white Toyota Camry traveling at a high rate of speed in the left lane of three. Westport Resident Accused Of Harassing Neighbor With Strange Acts
A Fairfield County man was charged with allegedly violating protective orders after leaving a Bible with a knife stuck in it by a neighbor's door and then for performing a burning ritual in the backyard. Westport resident Francis Conklin, age 67, was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 8, for the June and July incidents. According to Lt. Duo Accused Of Drug Sales, Running Gambling Machines At Norwalk Store
Two Fairfield County men were busted for allegedly selling cocaine and running gaming machines out of a liquor store. The arrests occurred in Norwalk on Wednesday, Aug. 7, at Cocchia’s Liquor Store at 23 Ely Ave. According to Sgt. Ryan Evarts of the Norwalk Police Department, the department received information that a man named "Felix" was selling large quantities of cocaine from the store. A Connecticut man who was allegedly suicidal and wanted to be killed by police was taken into custody after fighting and injuring several officers. A Connecticut convicted felon was charged with a shooting that missed its target but did hit the car he was riding in. The incident occurred in New Haven County on Monday, Aug. 5, 2019, in the area of 120 Gravel St., in Meriden. According to Sgt. Michael Boothroyd of the Meriden Police officers responded to a report of shots fired and located a crime scene and determined that an occupied vehicle had been struck by gunfire. A Fairfield County man was charged with alleged assault after he reportedly knocked over a country club employee and then laughed. Walter Francis, age 58, of Westport, was arrested on Tuesday, July 23, for the Monday, June 3 incident at the Birchwood County Club in Westport. According to Lt. A man who was wanted for allegedly attempting to make a fraudulent bank transaction in Fairfield County turned himself in to the police. Steven Guardindo, age 56, of Wilmington, North Carolina, was arrested on July 11 by Darien Police for the March 2023 incident. According to Darien Police Sgt.
