A Worcester husband and wife potentially face life in prison after federal investigators said they forced a person into prostitution and trafficked them to multiple states for sex. Kiersten Soto, 29, and Moises Soto, 30, were arrested on Friday, Dec. 16, after investigators said they "used force, fraud, and coercion to traffic a victim for commercial sex in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Rhode Island" from February through May 2022, the US Attorney for Massachusetts said. Massachusetts Post Office Manager Admits To Stealing Packages Of Cocaine: Feds
A 43-year-old Worcester post office manager pleaded guilty last month in federal court to stealing packages at least eight times that contained cocaine so he could sell the drugs, the Department of Justice announced. Kevin Dombroski of Worcester admitted to one count of mail theft by a US Postal Service employee on Aug. 30, the US Attorney's Office said. A federal judge will sentence him in January. 20-Year-Old From Fairfield County Killed In I-84 Crash
A 20-year-old was killed after slamming into the back of a tractor-trailer on a busy Connecticut roadway, police said. The crash took place in New Haven County around 8:30 p.m. near Exit 23 on I-84 in Waterbury. According to state police, both vehicles were traveling westbound when a Chevrolet Silverado driven by Fairfield County resident Zachary James Carlson, of Danbury, failed to slow down due to traffic and struck the rear of the tractor-trailer. By the time he was busted by federal agents in June 2022, Connecticut resident Fagner De Lima told police he had been smuggling humans into the country for two decades. A Worcester man is being held without bail after being charged with the murder of another man whose body was found in March, Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. said. Two teenagers were hospitalized in two separate shootings that happened over the weekend in Worcester, authorities said.
