Snow, Wintry Mix Delays CT School Openings: Here's Where
Dozens of schools across Connecticut had delayed openings due to a wintry mix that fell into Monday morning, Dec. 16. Some parts of the state saw 4 inches of snow, while others got a light dusting. According to the National Weather Service, the highest amount of snow fell in New Milford (4 inches); Cornwall saw 2.5 inches; Litchfield saw two inches, Waterbury saw 3 inches; Meriden saw 2 inches, and Hartford saw 1.3 inches. CT Teacher Accused Of Leaving Children Home Alone While She Traveled Out Of State
A Connecticut school teacher has been arrested for allegedly leaving two children home alone while she traveled out of the state. Litchfield County resident Kerry Lyn Caviasca, age 36, of Watertown, was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 15, for leaving two children alone for two days and nights, said Detective Mark Conway, of the Watertown Police. According to Conway, the children are ages 9 and 11. She was charged with the risk of injury to a minor and released on a $5,000 bond. Suspect Nabbed After 14-Year-Old Fatally Stabbed On CT Roadway
A Connecticut man has been charged with the stabbing death of a 14-year-old boy on a city street. Jeimy Cintron, age 27, was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 29 for the stabbing which took place around 1:40 p.m., on Colonial Avenue in Waterbury. The teen, who was stabbed in the chest area with a knife, was found by officers who responded to Colonia Avenue on the report of an assault, according to Lt. Robert Davis of the Waterbury Police Department. Emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for further treatment where he later died…
