ID Released For Man Who Disappeared In Waters Off Fairfield Coast Police have identified a man who disappeared in the waters off the Connecticut coast. The incident occurred in Fairfield around 12:10 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 3, near Lighthouse Point and Penfield Reef. According to Sgt. Michael Stahl of the Fairfield Police Department, a 911 call was received about two individuals struggling in the water near Lighthouse Point and Penfield Reef.  Stahl said several nearby bystanders assisted in rescuing one of the men. Woman's Quick Actions Save Drowning Child In Fairfield County, Police Say A Fairfield County woman is credited with saving the life of a child after she pulled the girl from a community swimming pool. The incident took place in Trumbull at the Ten Apartments, 100 Oakview Drive on Thursday, June 9. The victim, a 5-year-old Trumbull girl, was found unresponsive in the water at about 6 p.m. and was pulled out of the water, said Lt.
