A 37-year-old Connecticut father and husband who was killed in a crash over the weekend is being remembered for his quick wit and love of his family and music. Dan Jeannotte, of Enfield, was killed Sunday, Sept. 22, when his car veered off the Exit 40 ramp on I-91 in Windsor and hit a tree around 2:30 a.m. He died at the scene. New Racist Email Sent To Black Students Under Investigation At UMass
New racist emails were sent to Black students and a staff member at the University of Massachusetts, school officials said. UMass Chancellor Kumble Subbaswamy sent an email to the community on Tuesday, May 3 after four Black student groups, including several Black students and one campus official received an email with “deeply racist, hateful language" that are being investigated. UMass System Gets $50M Gift, Largest In School History
The University of Massachusetts received a windfall from a pair of alumni that represents the largest cash gift in the school’s history. UMass announced that Robert J. and Donna Manning have provided a $50 million gift that is “aimed at increasing access and opportunity across the five-campus university system.” Moving forward, the first $15 million will be used to endow the UMass Boston nursing program, which will be renamed as the Robert and Donna Manning College of Nursing and Health Sciences in honor of the pair.
