Woman Hospitalized After Tree Falls On Merritt In Westport, Hitting Vehicles Amid Strong Winds
Two cars were hit by a tree on the Merritt Parkway and another hit the tree as it fell in the roadway in Fairfield County amid very windy conditions.
The incident occurred in Westport around 2:50 p.m. Monday, March 11, south of Exit 42, Connecticut State Police said.
The three vehicles, a Toyota Corolla, a Toyota Sienna, and a Nissan Altima, were traveling south on the parkway in the right lane when the tree fell, hitting the top of the first two vehicles.
The third vehicle hit the tree as it fell in the roadway, state police added.

Norwalk Man Nabbed For Leaving Scene Of Darien Crash, Police Say
A Fairfield County man has been charged with evading responsibility after he allegedly left the scene of a crash.
Richard Bliss, age 46, of Norwalk, was charged on Thursday, Nov. 30 after turning himself in to Darien Police on a warrant, said Sgt. Dan Skoumbros of the Darien Police.
According to Skoumbros, Bliss allegedly struck a car from behind, got out of his vehicle, and asked if the woman was okay in the car he struck in the area of Ledge Road and Noroton Avenue, then drove away.

Two people were injured after being struck by a vehicle at a busy Fairfield County intersection in a crash involving a Hudson Valley man.
The incident took place in Stamford around 11:20 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14 at the intersection of Bedford Street and Broad Street.
According to Sgt. Jeffrey Booth, of the Stamford Police, responding officers found two pedestrians, a man, and a woman lying on the ground injured.

One Killed After Drunk Driver Crashes Into Truck On I-84, CT State Police Say
One person was killed after a man driving drunk slammed into a stopped truck on a stretch of I-84, according to Connecticut State Police.
The three-vehicle crash happened in New Haven County at around 7:50 a.m. Friday, Mach 18 on the westbound side near Exit 16 in Southbury.
At the time of the crash, state police say two trucks were pulled over, one with a flat tire, and the other a tow truck.
