2 CT Men Found Dead In Lake After Canoe Overturns
Two Connecticut men were found dead in a lake after their canoe overturned. The incident occurred in Tolland County in Bolton at Lower Bolton Lake on Wednesday, March 13. According to Paul Copleman, spokesperson for the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, multiple fire departments responded with vessels and dive teams to search for the men. Dive teams recovered one man who was transported and pronounced dead at the hospital, Copleman said. Emergency responders recovered a second body during rescue efforts. A 39-year-old Connecticut woman was killed in a fiery crash after crashing into a tree. The collision occurred in New London County around 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 12 on Route 85 in Colchester. A 43-year-old Connecticut man has been hit with child exploitation charges after enticing young girls to send him sexually explicit images and videos over a phone application in return for money, federal officials announced. A UConn student died after falling from a high level of the south garage onto the pavement below. The incident occurred in Tolland County around 9:30 a.m., Thursday, March 7 at the college in Storrs. According to Stephanie Reitz, director of communications for the college, UConn police and fire personnel responded following reports of a person falling from a high level of the south garage onto the pavement. One person was killed in a two-vehicle overnight crash in Connecticut. It happened around 2 a.m. Saturday, March 2 in Tolland County on the eastbound side of I-84 in the town of Union. Police have released the identity of a 25-year-old Connecticut man killed in a hit-and-run motorcycle crash. Tolland County resident James Faulkner, of Vernon, was killed on Tuesday, Feb. 27 during a crash with a 2018 Infiniti Q50 on Prospect Street in Vernon. According to Lt. Robert Marra of the Vernon Police, the driver of the Infiniti fled the scene after hitting Vaulkner's motorcycle. Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding a missing man in Connecticut. Justin Shvetz, age 40, was last seen in the Tolland County town of Vernon in the area of Old Town Road, Vernon Police announced on Tuesday, Feb. 13 around 2:15 p.m. Shvetz is described as 5-foot-6 and 135 pounds, police said. A suspect is at large after a woman was killed in a hit-and-run Connecticut crash overnight. It happened just after midnight on Sunday, Feb. 4 in Tolland County in the town of Hebron.
