Officer Saves Suicidal Man From Jumping Off Bridge In Fairfield County
A Fairfield County police officer who was on his way to work saved a suicidal man from jumping off a bridge overpass. The incident took place around 6:45 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 23, as the Westport Police officer was driving through Fairfield on his way to Westport. According to Lieutenant David Wolf, of the Westport Police, Officer Brian Meraviglia encountered a suicidal man who was preparing to jump off the Redding Road overpass onto the Merritt Parkway below. CT High School Locked Down For Second Straight Day Following Reported Threat
For the second straight day, a high school in Connecticut was forced to go into lockdown due to a possible threat. In New Haven County, the Eli Whitney Technical High School was placed into lockdown shortly before 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 7, when state police investigators alerted the district about a possible threat to the building. Police Increase Presence Around CT High School After Threat
There was an increased police presence outside a Connecticut high school after there were allegations that a student made threats against the school, police said. In Hartford County, extra officers responded to the Howell Cheney Technical School in Manchester after a student reportedly expressed a desire to commit a school shooting, though it was later determined that it wasn’t related to a firearm, and instead a knife was recovered from the teen.
