Several Connecticut communities are among the “best places to live in America” in 2022, according to a newly released poll.
Each year, Niche explores the best places to live in the US, evaluating factors that include crime, public school systems, job opportunities, and local amenities.
Using data based on the US Census, FBI, US Bureau of Labor (BLS), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and other sources, Niche then ranked the top places to live across the country, led by Chesterbrook, a suburb of Philadelphia.

A mixed martial arts fighter from Connecticut has died following his debut bout.
Christian Lubenga, age 27, who trained in New Haven County at the Black Wolf MMA, a gym in Orange, died on Monday, March 14, two days after the fight that was on Saturday, March 12, at AMMO 10 located in Hampden County in West Springfield, Massachusetts, according to the New England Mixed Martial Arts.

A pair of winning $100,000 CT Lottery tickets sold at Connecticut food stores have been cashed in on the same day.
First, in New London County, on Monday, March 14, Oakdale resident James Floyd, Jr. cashed in a winning "Pinball Wizard XXIV" scratch-off ticket that was sold at Sams Food Store on Ocean Avenue in New London.
Later that day, Middlesex resident Joseph Rigano, of Middletown, cashed in a second winning $100,000 "CASH5" ticket that was sold at Price Chopper on the Berlin Turnpike in Newington in Hartford County.

Connecticut 'Hot Chicken' Restaurant To Expand To Second Location
A Connecticut restaurant that specializes in crispy, spicy chicken dishes is preparing to open a second location.
The owners of Haven Hot Chicken, located in New Haven, are preparing to add a second location in Orange.
The new, 1,400-square-foot restaurant will be located at 550 Boston Post Road, representatives said.
The Orange location will have the same menu as the New Haven location, offering signature chicken dishes, which include sandwiches, tenders, nuggets, and more. Guests also can choose the level of spice they want for their chicken orders.
