A man posing as a police officer and pulling over drivers in a stolen Connecticut fire department pickup truck got an up-close look at real law enforcement when he was arrested this weekend, authorities said.
Kristian Avery, 46, of Windsor, Connecticut, was arrested just before 5 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, and is facing multiple charges following a chase on I-91, Massachusetts State Police said.

Stop Of Vehicle With No License Plates Leads To Narcotics, Firearms Bust In Western Mass
A Massachusetts State Police trooper on patrol in Franklin County busted a New England man and minor who were in possession of drugs and illegal weapons, authorities announced.
Trooper Tyler Hersom was on patrol at approximately 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22 when he stopped a vehicle on I-91 in Whately for driving without front or rear license plates.
During the subsequent stop, investigators said that Hersom found five people inside the vehicle, and the driver, Shaftsbury, Vermont resident Dylan Graskey, age 35, was allegedly “deceptive,” according to police.

Woman Charged After Bicyclist Killed In Crash In Region
A Western Massachusetts woman who struck and killed a bicyclist will face charges of negligent motor vehicle homicide, authorities said.
Hampshire County resident Haley Kelly-Sherette, age 23, of Williamsburg, will be arraigned Friday, Nov. 5 in connection with the death of 69-year-old Charles Braun.
The investigation revealed Kelly-Sherette failed to stop for a stop sign as she used Facetime while driving, said Laurie Loisel, director of communications for the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office.
