Greenwich Homeowner Catches Burglar, Holds Him Down Until Police Arrived
A homeowner interrupted a burglary in progress and he and another man were able to hold down the suspect until police arrived in Fairfield County.
The incident took place in Greenwich around 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 25 on Holly Hill Lane.
According to Greenwich Police Lt. Patrick Smyth, police responded after receiving a call of two men holding down a third man and yelling for someone to call 911.
When police arrived, they found that the man being held down, Danny Collazo, age 48, of the Bronx, New York, had entered the home and removed items worth more than $2,300, Smyth said.

$22K Scam: Norwalk Man Charged For Failing To Deliver After Sale, Police Say
A Fairfield County man has been charged with larceny after he allegedly failed to deliver equipment he sold for $22,000.
The incident took place in January when Norwalk Police opened an investigation into a complaint of larceny committed by Christou Papachristou, age 42, said Norwalk Police Sgt. Joe Dinho.
The buyer, who lives in Florida, reported that he had purchased a piece of equipment from Papachristou, a Norwalk resident, paying over $22,000 for it, but that it never arrived, Dinho said.

A Connecticut Target employee was charged with larceny after allegedly stealing more than $13,000 from cash registers at the store where he worked.
The incident took place in Hartford County between December 2022 and January in South Windsor.
Jorge L. Rivera-Martinez, age 23, of East Hartford was arrested on an active arrest warrant on Wednesday, April 5, said Sgt. Mark Cleverdon, of the South Windsor Police.

Fake ID Scam: Thousands Of Dollars Swindled From Fairfield County Resident, Police Say
A man has been charged with larceny and identity theft after allegedly using a fake ID to steal more than $20,000 from a Fairfield County resident.
Archie Longson, age 44, of New York City, was arrested by Wilton Police on Monday, March 27 on a warrant.
The victim first learned of the crime in April 2022, when they found two fraudulent transactions on their bank account for a total of $20,500; a withdrawal of $8,000 was also made at a bank in Connecticut, and a bank check in the name of Longson was purchased for the amount of $12,500, said Capt. A Connecticut man was charged with larceny and identity theft after allegedly stealing more than $11,000 from a business.
Justin L Kies, age 36, of Hartford, was arrested on Tuesday, March 28 on a warrant for the December 2022 incident in which he cashed four fraudulent checks in South Windsor.
An investigation found that Kies cashed four fraudulent checks totaling $11,535.25 from Valley Boarding Kennels at 47 Patria Road, said Sgt. Mark Cleverdon, of the South Windsor Police.

CT KFC Manager Nabbed For Ripping Off $12K In Cash Deposits, Police Say
A 46-year-old Connecticut woman has turned herself in to police after allegedly being caught stealing more than $12,000 in cash deposits from Kentucky Fired Chicken where she was a manager.
New Haven County resident Iris Estella, of Waterbury, turned herself in on an active arrest warrant on Tuesday, March 14, stemming from a larceny complaint made by KFC in December 2022.
During the original investigation, officers found instances of numerous missing cash deposits beginning early November into December, totaling close to $12,000, said the Naugatuck Police.

A career criminal who brandished a weapon and threatened he had a gun during the theft of a catalytic converter has been arrested on a warrant, authorities announced.
Joshua Dejesus, age 24, was nabbed by Bridgeport Police on Wednesday, March 22 on a warrant out of Greenwich for the Saturday, May 28, 2022 incident, said Lt. Patrick Smyth of the Greenwich Police.
