Freezing Worker Trapped In Trench Collapse Rescued By CT Firefighters
Connecticut firefighters rescued a man who was trapped after a trench he was working in collapsed, burying him in dirt up to his thighs, authorities said. Stamford firefighters were called to Hampton Lane just before 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, where they found the man trapped. He was alert and conscious when they arrived. Rescue crews reinforced the trench walls with panels to stabilize them before they began to dig him out, Stamford authorities said. Cop Convicted In Death Of 8-Year-Old Son Forced To Stay In Freezing Garage
A jury on Long Island convicted a former NYPD officer in the death of his 8-year-old son who was forced to stay in a freezing garage. Michael Valva, age 43, told authorities that the boy, Thomas Valva, had fallen in the driveway of his home in Center Moriches when he was found dead in the basement at around 9:40 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2020.
