House Full Of Neglected Animals Deemed Unhabitable In Fairfield
A Fairfield home has been deemed uninhabitable after police and animal control found 25 dogs and 22 cats malnourished and living in feces and urine. The discovery took place during the week of Tuesday, April 17 when a concerned citizen contacted police about a dog that was found roaming in the Steep Hill Road area of Fairfield, said Lt. Michael Paris, of the Fairfield Police. The dog appeared to have been covered in feces and urine, having a generally poor appearance, Paris said. Fairfield County Town Issues Alert After Tick Species Found To Be Established In Area
A Fairfield County town is urging residents to take precautions following the discovery that Asian longhorned ticks have become well-established in the area. The Town of Fairfield announced on Tuesday, June 21, that researchers at Western Connecticut State University’s Tickborne Disease Prevention Laboratory discovered a week earlier that the ticks were found on a resident's dog. 19: Beware Of Scam Calls About Exposure, CT DOH Says
The Connecticut Department of Health is cautioning of opportunistic fraudsters who have been posing as purported COVID-19 contact tracers as part of a more elaborate scam. An alert was issued by the DOH after the Fairfield Health Department in Fairfield County advised that they had received a dozen calls from Connecticut residents in the past two weeks who were instructed to call a number regarding potential COVID-19 exposure.
