A 26-year-old woman faces charges after driving the wrong way on a Fairfield County road and later being found slumped over the wheel inside her vehicle, police said. Fairfield resident Jocelyn Kane, age 26, was arrested on Saturday, Nov. 18 following an incident that began around 11:30 p.m. when a wrong-way vehicle was seen traveling south on Mansfield Avenue in the area of Royle Road in Darien, according to Darien Police Sergeant Dan Skoumbros. A group of Fairfield County firefighters received the call all dreaded, a blaze at their own station. The incident took place in the town of Fairfield around 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2 at Station 1 on Reef Road. The crew received the news from Fairfield Fire Marshal, Asst. A 25-year-old Amazon delivery driver is accused of sexually assaulting an elderly woman while giving her a ride to Norwalk, police said. Hartford County resident Gabriel Alexis Alfaro of Rocky Hill, age 25, was arrested at his home on Wednesday, Oct. 25 by Norwalk Police Special Victims Unit Detectives, the department announced. A chemical spill at a Sacred Heart University science lab in Connecticut caused an evacuation and a hazmat response. The incident occurred in Fairfield around 8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 25 at the university. An 18-year-old man has been charged with allegedly breaking into a Fairfield County home and assaulting a man as he slept. The incident took place in Fairfield on Sunday, Oct. 22 around 7:20 a.m. According to Fairfield Police, the victim called 911 to report that he had just been assaulted while asleep. 28-Year-Old Hit, Killed By Garbage Truck In Fairfield
A person was hit and killed by a garbage truck in Fairfield County. The incident took place in Fairfield around 7:13 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 11 in the area of Camfield Drive at Bloomfield Drive. According to Lt. Edward Nook Jr. of the Fairfield Police, the 28-year-old person was struck by a United Carting truck and was pronounced dead at the scene. The State Medical Examiners personnel took the victim from the scene. OSHA also arrived on the scene to investigate. Supermarket chain Stop & Shop will host a one-day career fair to fill hundreds of open positions at its Connecticut stores on Saturday, Sept. 23.
