19 People, Dog Rescued From CT Restaurant, Home During Floods
Firefighters in Connecticut rescued 19 people and a dog from a restaurant that had been quickly flooded after a severe storm ravaged the area. The incident occurred in New Haven County in Oxford at around 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18, at the Brookside Inn Restaurant and a nearby residence. The rescue occurred when Beacon Falls firefighters responded to calls in Seymour and Oxford to help Oxford crews, who were extraordinarily busy with emergencies throughout town. Police, along with the FBI, are investigating an explosion in the hallway of an apartment complex in Fairfield County that sent residents scrambling for safety. Investigation Underway After Possible Grenade Found Buried In CT Yard
Authorities are investigating after a possible grenade was found buried in a yard in Connecticut. Police in Hartford County responded to a location on Troy Road in South Windsor at about 2:45 p.m. on Monday, April 18, according to the South Windsor Police Department. A man, who was checking the property with a metal detector, reported that he found what appeared to be a grenade buried about a foot under the grass in the front yard, police said. Springfield City Hall Evacuated After Suspicious Container Found
A Western Massachusetts city hall has been evacuated after a suspicious contained was found near its entrance. The container was found around 10:15 a.m., Monday, Feb. 14, near the entrance to the Springfield City Hall. According to Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield Police the building was evacuated as a precaution. The Arson and Bomb Squad is investigating. This is a developing story. Multiple Bomb Threats Reported At Yale Campus
Several buildings at Yale University in New Haven were evacuated after multiple bomb threats were reported on campus, officials announced. An alert sent out by the school said that the university has received calls about bombs being placed in multiple buildings on its New Haven campus. University Theatre, Jonathan Edwards College, the Yale Art Gallery, Vanderbilt Hall, Bingham Hall, Welch Hall, and Grace Hopper were all evacuated at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5, and people have been advised to avoid those areas.
