Police have identified a man who disappeared in the waters off the Connecticut coast. The incident occurred in Fairfield around 12:10 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 3, near Lighthouse Point and Penfield Reef. According to Sgt. Michael Stahl of the Fairfield Police Department, a 911 call was received about two individuals struggling in the water near Lighthouse Point and Penfield Reef. A 40-year-old man found hiding in the rear yard of a Fairfield County home with multiple gunshot wounds is in critical condition after the shooter called 911 to report the incident. The shooting took place in Bridgeport around 10:20 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 1, in the 1800 block of Seaview Avenue, near Bridgeport Hospital. According to Capt. A Connecticut woman turned herself in to police after she allegedly ran over an unrestrained 2-year-old who opened a car door and was run over and seriously injured. Middlesex County resident Maria Santiago, age 55, of Clinton, turned herself in on Monday, July 29, on four counts of risk of injury to a minor and failure to apply a child restraint system for the Tuesday, May 14 incident. A 2-year-old boy underwent surgery after being shot in the hand and foot at a home in Fairfield County. The incident occurred in Monroe around 9:20 p.m., Tuesday, July 23, on Wheeler Road. Days after a husband and wife were found shot to death at their Connecticut home, their deaths have been ruled a murder-suicide. The New London County incident happened Wednesday morning, June 19, at a residence in Voluntown on Hell Hollow Road. Connecticut State Police said troopers found 69-year-old Michael Zannini and 65-year-old Jacqueline Zannini both dead from gunshot wounds. A 31-year-old Fairfield County man who was crushed while working on a food truck has died from his injuries. The incident occurred in Stamford around 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, on West Avenue.
