This week, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that there is a nationwide recall of thousands of Hallmark Keepsake Christmas tree ornaments of Cad Bane, who is featured in several Star Wars shows on Disney+. These Greenwich Teens May Be The Future Of Filmmaking, But You Can Watch Their Work Now
A group of talented teenagers will soon accomplish a feat that all filmmakers aspire to but few reach: having their films shown in one of the busiest movie theaters in the country. Nine students from Sacred Heart Greenwich were chosen to screen their short films as part of the 12th annual All-American High School Film Festival. Their movies were picked from thousands of submissions to make it to the finals. Disney+ To Raise Prices Along With Several Other Major Streaming Services
Another year, another streaming service price hike. Disney+, the streaming video platform that boasts more than 150 million users, is raising the price of its monthly subscriptions beginning Thursday, Oct. 17, the company said. The spike comes as Disney said it will crack down on password-sharing, Variety reported. The House of the Mouse announced earlier this year that prices for its most basic package with advertisements will climb from $8 to $10 monthly. Disney+ Premium will also rise by $2 to $16 monthly. Several major media companies will cover travel costs for employees seeking abortions in response to the Supreme Court overturning Roe vs. Wade, Variety reports. This comes after the court ruled 6-3 to overturn people's constitutional right to the procedure on the morning of Friday, June 24. Two Disney-branded hand sanitizer products are being recalled after they were found to contain carcinogens. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that Best Brands Consumer Products is voluntarily recalling two finished product lots of “The Mandalorian Hand Sanitizer,” available in green and blue formulations, and bottles of “Mickey Mouse Hand Sanitizer” that come with a blue product. Five models of projector flashlights are being recalled because the manufacturer has received reports of children accessing the button cell batteries and in one case swallowing them. The child who swallowed the battery manufactured by Halo, the company issuing the recall, required surgery to remove it, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Halo says the models include its Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Avengers, and ESPN projector flashlights. They have a key chain on one end and a flashlight projector on the other end.
