Fairfield County Man Drowns At Candlewood Lake, Police Say
State police are reporting that a man who was pulled from a Fairfield County lake in cardiac arrest has died from drowning. The victim, Adao Nogueira, age 53, of Danbury, was rescued from Button Island in New Fairfield around 5 p.m., Monday, Aug. 16. Brookfield Volunteer Fire and EMS were dispatched to the island for a reported drowning on Candlewood Lake, according to the Connecticut State Police. Sonic Drive-In has announced plans to open a new location in Fairfield County in the coming days. The new restaurant in Danbury will begin serving customers on Thursday, July 21, according to an announcement from representatives. The restaurant is located at 172 White St., and it will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Man Caught With Loaded Firearm On School Grounds, CT State Police Say
A 55-year-old man was arrested in Fairfield County after police said he was found with a loaded firearm on school grounds. The incident happened in New Fairfield at Consolidated School on Wednesday, March 30. Richard Logo, of New Fairfield, was arrested at about 1:15 p.m. that day and charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds and illegally carrying a firearm while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, according to Connecticut State Police. A 26-year-old Fairfield County father drowned while attempting to save his two small children who were having difficulty swimming. The incident took place around 5 p.m., Monday, Sept. 6, in Litchfield County when New Milford Police responded to the Candlewood Shores Community Beach. According to Lt.
