A recall for a brand of vegetables and bagged salads has been expanded to 18 states due to possible Listeria contamination. Ohio-based Wiers Farm began its investigation in response to the Michigan Department of Agriculture's original findings, which led to the expansion. Products in the expanded recall were packed between Friday, July through Friday, July 12. The death of a Connecticut man who was found face down in a stream has been ruled a homicide by strangulation by the state Medical Examiner's Office. The New Haven man, identified as Miguel Rivera, age 62, was found in a stream around 7:10 a.m. on Friday, July 19, in a stream in the area of Hemingway Street. According to Officer Christian Bruckhart of the New Haven Police, the medical examiner conducted a preliminary examination of Rivera on scene, and no signs of trauma were located at the time. An investigation is underway after a woman was shot and killed during a dispute near a Connecticut Amtrak station. The 14-year-old victim of a now-arrested Connecticut man told authorities he was sexually assaulted an estimated 20 times. Scott Predom, a Middlesex County man, was arrested on Tuesday, July 9 on charges of sexual assault and more following a Tolland County investigation, police announced.
