CT Grocery Store Rebuilding After Blaze Damages Building: 'Everything Is Fixable'
A Connecticut grocery store housed in a historic building that has been a mainstay for several generations has been forced to temporarily close as it repairs damage caused by a fire. Hartford County's Kensington Market, located in Berlin at 1014 Farmington Ave. (Route 372), was damaged by a blaze that broke out on Saturday, Feb. 3 at around 1:40 a.m., according to the Berlin Fire Department. 50 Animals Saved In Fast-Moving Fairfield County Fire As Residents Jump From Second-Floor
Some 50 dogs and cats were saved during a fast-moving fire in Fairfield County that caused residents to jump from second-floor windows. The fire began in Westport around 11:45 p.m., Wednesday, April 20 in a mixed-occupancy building that housed apartments and an animal boarding facility. Westport Police officers arrived and reported a visible fire coming from the building, said Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Gootman, of the Westport Fire Department. Two Rescued After Apartment Fire Breaks Out In Region
Two people were rescued from a third-floor apartment in Western Massachusetts during a two-alarm fire. The fire started around 3 a.m., Monday, Dec. 27 in Springfield at 858 Belmont Ave. Springfield Fire Department officials said two people were rescued from the third floor using ladders. One of those rescued was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, another was treated at the scene, the department said. Firefighters had the fire under control in about an hour. The Springfield Arson and Bomb Squad is currently investigating.
