Bear Escapes Capture After Breaking Into Garage Looking For Grill At CT Home
A black bear managed to "let itself out" of a garage and escape after breaking in in search of a grill that had been used earlier in the day. The incident took place in Hartford County at a home on Walnut Hill Road in Hartland on Sunday, May 21. State Department of Energy and Environmental Protection officials responded to the home, but by the time they arrived the bear had let itself out of the garage without assistance, said DEEP spokesman Paul Copleman. A store in Connecticut had to delay its opening after a particularly hungry, furry, four-legged customer broke into its other location where many of its products are prepared and charged an employee. Black Bear Bites CT Woman Walking Dog
A Connecticut woman is recovering after being bitten by a black bear while walking her dog along a roadway. The incident took place in Hartford County early Friday, April 21 in the town of Avon. According to the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, a 74-year-old woman was walking her dog on a leash along Berkshire Crossing Road when a female black bear approached and bit her.
