Train, Tractor-Trailer Involved In CT Collision An Amtrak passenger train and a tractor-trailer were involved in a crash in Connecticut. The collision occurred in New Haven County at a railroad crossing on Sackett Point Road in North Haven at 5:50 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9.  North Haven Police said an investigation is underway, and commuters are asked to avoid the area and expect delays. Only minor injuries were reported, North Haven Police said. A train engineer was hospitalized. Tractor-Trailer Fire Causes Delays On I-95, CT State Police Report Authorities reported heavy delays on I-95 in Connecticut due to a tractor-trailer fire. The tractor-trailer fire happened in New London County on the northbound highway near Exit 73 in East Lyme, Connecticut State Police reported at about 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10. In the announcement, police advised motorists to seek an alternate route and expect heavy delays in the area. No further details about the incident were reported.

Tractor-Trailer Crash Causes Hours-Long I-95 Delays This story has been updated. There were delays of around two hours on a stretch of I-95 after a tractor-trailer crash in Fairfield County. The crash happened on the northbound side Friday morning, Aug. 21 at around 4 a.m., initially shutting down all lanes in Darien between Noroton Avenue/Exit 10 and Route 1/Exit 11. One lane reopened around daybreak with traffic backed up to Harvard Avenue/West Avenue (Exit 6) in Stamford. The highway did not fully reopen until the end of the morning commute.
