Train, Tractor-Trailer Involved In CT Collision An Amtrak passenger train and a tractor-trailer were involved in a crash in Connecticut. The collision occurred in New Haven County at a railroad crossing on Sackett Point Road in North Haven at 5:50 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9.  North Haven Police said an investigation is underway, and commuters are asked to avoid the area and expect delays. Only minor injuries were reported, North Haven Police said. A train engineer was hospitalized. 1 Rescued From CT River After Kayak Capsizes One person was rescued from a Connecticut river after their kayak capsized as dusk approached. The incident occurred in New Haven County around 7:50 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, in the Quinnipiac River in North Haven. According to North Haven Fire Chief Paul Januszewski, the department responded to the river for the report of a kayak that had capsized with people in the water.  Another 911 call was placed and answered by Hamden, resulting in both North Haven and Hamden fire departments responding to the Quinnipiac River.  North Haven firefighters deployed a boat from a launch on Sacke…

CT Town Increases Staffing After 46 Vehicle Burglaries In Week In just the past week one Connecticut police department has responded to 46 vehicle burglaries. The crimes are taking place in New Haven County in North Haven. "Criminals are smashing windows to locked vehicles and looking for items of value," the North Haven Police Department said.
