Covid-19: Fairfield County City Lifts Mask Mandate For Most
A city-wide mask mandate in a Fairfield County city will soon be lifted due to the falling number of COVID-19 cases.
Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons announced on Friday, Feb. 11 that the city-wide mask mandate will be lifted on Wed., Feb. 16.
Masks are still required to be worn in hospitals, nursing homes, healthcare and childcare facilities, schools, municipal buildings, and on public transit, Simmons said.
The announcement comes in response to a decline in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in Stamford.

A man and woman from New York are facing felony charges after authorities said they both presented fake COVID-19 vaccination cards to attend a Buffalo Bills game.
Michael Naab, age 34, and 37-year-old Amber Naab, both of West Seneca, were arraigned on Tuesday, Jan. 25, and each charged with one count of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, which is a Class D felony, the Erie County District Attorney John Flynn announced.
The couple is accused of presenting fake cards to attend the game on Saturday, Jan. 15, at Highmark Stadium.
