Whoops: Speeding CT Driver Slams Into Police Department Sign, Cops Say
An alleged speeding Connecticut driver who was accused of being high on alcohol or drugs slammed into a police department's sign, destroying it.
The incident took place in Windham County around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4 in Plainfield.
When notified by police dispatchers of a crash in front of the department officers walked outside to find a silver Honda Accord against the department's entrance sign, the department said.

One person was killed in a large, early morning apartment fire in Connecticut.
The blaze broke out in Windham County around 12:40 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 17 in Moosup.
Members of the Plainfield Police responded to the area of Moosup Gardens Apartments on Gorman Street for a report of a structure fire involving multiple apartment units, police officials said.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that there was potential entrapment of residents within the affected apartments of Building 5, police said.

CT Man Accused Of Having Sexual Contact With 13-Year-Old
A Connecticut man wanted for allegedly having sexual conduct with a 13-year-old girl has been captured.
Windham County resident Eduardo Acevedo, age 33, of Moosup, was captured on Friday, June 10, with the help of the Lincoln, Rhode Island Police on a warrant from the Plainfield Police Department.
Through an investigation, it was determined that Acevedo had inappropriate sexual contact with a 13-year-old female, said Chief Mario Arriaga, of the Plainfield Police.

CT Woman Busted With Drugs After Being Stopped For Driving Without Headlights, Police Say
Police busted a Connecticut woman for alleged possession of drugs and other charges after being stopped for driving without headlights.
New London County resident Joyce Pendleton, age 37, of Quaker Hill, was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 17, by Plainfield Police Department in Windham County, around 3:20 a.m., police said.
When the officer conducted the traffic stop, three occupants and Pendleton, exited the vehicle and attempted to run away, police said.
