A Northern Westchester man has been accused of driving drunk in Fairfield County after police say he crossed the double-yellow line several times. At about 9 p.m. Saturday, April 6, an officer on routine patrol in New Canaan observed the vehicle traveling north on New Norwalk Road. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop and identified Manuel Allende, age 65, of South Salem, as the operator. New Canaan Man Charged With Cruelty To Animals
A Fairfield County man was charged with alleged animal cruelty after he was stopped by police on a warrant. Jack Hawkins, age 47, of New Canaan, was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 7 on New Norwalk Road in New Canaan. According to Lt. Marc DeFelice, of the New Canaan Police, Hawkins was stopped for an active warrant in association with an animal call in January. Hawkins was placed under arrest and transported back to New Canaan Police Headquarters and charged with animal cruelty. Police did not reveal what kind of animal cruelty was involved in the case. Woman Charged With DUI After Running Red Light In Fairfield County, Police Say
A 59-year-old woman was accused of driving in Fairfield County while intoxicated at more than twice the legal limit. An officer saw a vehicle fail to obey a red traffic signal while traveling on New Norwalk Road in New Canaan, nearly striking another vehicle at the intersection with Silvermine Road at about 2:20 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, according to the New Canaan Police Department. A Northern Westchester man was charged after police said he was found in possession of cocaine during a traffic stop in Connecticut. An officer in Fairfield County pulled a vehicle over on New Norwalk Road in New Canaan after seeing that the driver wasn't wearing a seatbelt at about 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 22, according to the New Canaan Police Department. A man whose license was suspended is accused of resisting arrest after a traffic stop in Fairfield County, according to police. Fairfield County Man Turns Himself In For Fleeing Scene Of Crash, Police Say
A Fairfield County man was arrested for allegedly leaving the scene of a crash. Christopher Dezso, age 26, of Norwalk, was arrested on Tuesday, June 1, when he turned himself in to New Canaan Police and admitted that he was the person who had fled the scene of a crash on Friday, May 21, said the New Canaan Police. Dezso was driving a grey Ford van when the crash took place at New Norwalk Road and East Avenue in New Canaan before he fled the scene.
