The accident happened in Putnam County on Saturday, March 4, when police in Mahopac responded to the area of Union Valley Road and Shindagen Hill Road for a reported head-on crash.  After arriving, police found a black BMW and a grey Subaru Legacy that both had heavy front-end damage. 23-Year-Old From Hudson Valley Dies After Being Struck By Passing Train A Hudson Valley woman who was hit in the head by a passing train while standing on a platform has died from her injuries. Putnam County resident, Hope Mantovi, age 23, of Mahopac was struck around 8:30 p.m., Saturday, March 19, in Woodlawn in the Bronx, said Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials. Mantovi died on Friday, April 8, at St. Barnabas Hospital from injuries incurred during the accident, her family announced. Area Resident Seriously Injured In Crash That Caused I-84 Closure Police are asking the public for help with information regarding a 4-vehicle crash that caused life-threatening injuries to one passenger and closed I-84 for hours. The crash took place around 2:15 p.m., Monday, Nov. 8, on I-84 in Danbury, said the Connecticut State Police.
