Fairfield County Man, Age 28, Nabbed For $17K Rip-Off From Estate Sale, Police Say
A local man was charged with larceny for allegedly selling $17,000 in goods at a Fairfield County estate sale and did not turn the money over to the victim's estate, according to authorities.
Nick Hatch, age 28, of Wilton, was charged on Friday, Jan. 27, after turning himself in to Wilton Police, said Lt. Gregg Phillipson, of the Wilton Police.
According to Phillipson, Hatch entered into a contract to sell items from the victim's estate. The items were sold, however, Hatch allegedly failed to provide the money owed to the victim per their agreement.

Duo Charged In Theft Of Hairless Cat, High-End Goods In Fairfield County Hotel Burglary
A man and woman have been charged in connection with the theft of a hairless cat named Princess and high-end goods at a Fairfield County hotel.
The burglary took place in Shelton on Sunday, Jan. 22, at the Hilton Garden Inn on Old Stratford Road.
During the burglary, Princess was taken along with some $8,5000 in goods including Gucci and Fendi handbags, Shelton Police said.
On Wednesday, Feb. 1, police arrested 20-year-old Zyair Lopez, and 24-year-old Toni Douglas-Alves, both of Bridgeport.

Moving Company Employee Stole Watch From Darien Home, Police Say
A moving company employee from Bridgeport is charged with stealing a watch from a woman's Darien home and then pawning it, police said.
The original incident happened on Monday, July 25, 2022, when a group of movers was helping a designer lift furniture at the victim's home in Darien. The watch was then reported stolen on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022, by the victim, according to Darien Police Sgt. Dan Skoumbros.
During the investigation into the theft, police determined that one of the movers was 38-year-old Jamar Blackburn of Bridgeport.

Pair Stole $164K From 94-Year-Old Connecticut Man's Checking Account, Police Say
A 94-year-old man from Connecticut lost $164,000 in thefts from his checking account, authorities said.
The alleged thieves included a pair from New Jersey, according to Old Saybrook Police.
Ashlee Crawford, age 33, of Plainfield, NJ, and Shannon Outlaw II, age 27, of North Brunswick, NJ,were charged with larceny and forgery, police said . Crawford also was charged with a second count of forgery.
The Middlesex County man, who resides in Old Saybrook, reported the theft to police in February after $164,284 disappeared from his checking account, police said.

Police In CT Searching For Walmart $6K Lego Thief Who Threatened To Shoot Employee
Police are searching for a man who allegedly stole nearly $6,000 worth of Legos from a Walmart and threatened to shoot an employee who attempted to stop him in Connecticut.
The incident took in Middlesex County around 8 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7 at the Old Saybrook Walmart.
