A popular restaurant has opened a new location in Fairfield County. Salsa Fresca Mexican Grill, located at the Playhouse Square at 275 Post Road East in Westport, officially opened its doors on Monday, Nov. 8. The new business will also host a grand opening a ribbon cutting beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13, according to representatives. A town leader in Fairfield County will remain in quarantine after being exposed to COVID-19. Westport First Selectman Jim Marpe will remain in quarantine for at least 14 days following direct contact with someone who tested positive for the virus, town officials announced. Marpe reportedly came into contact with the individual on Sunday, Oct. 18. Fairfield County Town Declares Public Health Crisis After 20 Test

A local civil preparedness emergency has been declared in a Fairfield County town after 20 residents have tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Westport First Selectman Jim Marpe made the announcement on Monday, March 16, saying that 31 Westport residents tested for the presence of the virus, with 20 people testing positive. Marpe said the order is allowed in the event of a local emergency that creates a risk of severe hazards to life, welfare or property.
