Naughty List: 8 Santas Busted During NJ SantaCon Over Fights, Crashes, Chaos
Some people attending SantaCon 2024 in Hoboken, including several from out of state, couldn't help but end up on the naughty list.
Hoboken police said eight people were arrested at the annual event on Saturday, Dec. 21, where people dress up as Santa Claus for a bar crawl, a spinoff of the popular event held every year in New York City (scroll down for details).
Overall, police issued 16 traffic summonses, dealt with 13 fights, and responded to three motor vehicle crashes, police said. Last year saw only two arrests.

A New Jersey-based political consultant admitted that he hired two hitmen, including one from Connecticut, to kill a longtime associate who had worked for him on various election campaigns, federal authorities said.
Sean Caddle, 44, a former aide to former New Jersey State Sen. Ray Lesniak (D-Elizabeth) paid the killers -- with the other from Pennsylvania -- to get rid of Michael Galdieri, the son of former State Sen. James Galdieri (D-Jersey City) and a prominent figure in local Hudson County politics.

An international ring of identity thieves stole $1.3 million worth of vehicles and watercraft from dealerships in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania, using fraudulently obtained digital driver's licenses, authorities charged.
Nine defendants used the stolen identities of US citizens in Puerto Rico -- along with fake Puerto Rico driver’s licenses, Social Security cards, debit cards, and birth certificates -- to obtain the licenses from motor vehicle agencies in Jersey City and North Bergen, Acting New Jersey Attorney General Andrew J. There are now numbers behind the mass exodus of New York City residents to the suburbs and beyond amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
From March 1 through Oct. 31 this year, a total of 295,103 NYC residents have made change-of-address requests.

Melinda Segunda Pritchett, 37 -- originally of New London, CT -- went in for a routine induction on Friday, Sept. 4, but required an emergency C-section due to a fetal heart rate complication, a GoFundMe page says.
