Man Extradited From Hawaii For CT Homicide
More than 11 years after the crime, a suspect is facing charges for his involvement in the 2011 murder of a Connecticut man.
Andrew Spino, age 34, was extradited from Hawaii, where he was in jail on unrelated charges, by US Marshals to New Haven County in connection with the March 2011 murder of Isaia Hernandez in Ansonia.
The investigation into the homicide of Hernandez began on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at 6:10 p.m., when the Ansonia Police Department received a complaint of a person shot in front of the Xtra Mart on Wakelee Avenue, said Lt. Patrick Lynch of the Ansonia Police.

Risk Of Kidnappings, Violent Crime Prompts US State Department To Issue Mexico Travel Advisory
A new travel advisory has been issued for Americans who may be planning on heading to Mexico, warning them of "violent crime and kidnapping.”
The US State Department advisory comes after incidents of vandalism, looting, and other crimes in the northern part of the Mexican state of Baja California, including the city of Tijuana, along the southern-most border of California.

A Connecticut man is dead and two others wounded following a shooting on a city street.
The incident took place in Hartford just before 11 p.m., Monday, Aug. 2, in the area of Winter Street.
Hartford Police officers responded to the area of Brook Street at Winter Street for two ShotSpotter notifications. Upon arrival, two victims of gunfire were located in the area of 13 Winter St., said Lt. Aaron Boisvert, of the Hartford Police.

CT Shooting Leaves Man, 18, Dead, Cops Say
An 18-year-old Connecticut man was found shot to death on a city street.
The incident took place in Waterbury just after midnight on Thursday, July 21 on Willow Street.
The man was found when Waterbury Police officers responded to a complaint of shots fired in the area of Willow Street, said Lt. Ryan Bessette, of the Waterbury Police.
During an investigation, officers located evidence of shots fired and a male victim who had sustained fatal gunshot wounds, Bessette said.
The victim, of Waterbury, was pronounced dead at the scene by ambulance personnel, he added.

A crew member for NBC's "Law & Order: Organized Crime," was gunned down and killed while sitting in a car.
The incident in New York City took place in Greenpoint in Brooklyn around 5:15 a.m., Tuesday, July 19.
According to the NYPD, the 31-year-old man was sitting in a vehicle in front of 229 North Henry Ave., when a person approached the car, opened the door, and fired multiple shots.

ID Released For CT Man Found Shot Dead On Roadway
Police have released the identity of a Connecticut man found shot dead on a city street.
Abdiel Rodriguez, age 25, was found around 10:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 5 in the city of New London, in the area of Colman Street and West Pleasant Street.
Upon arriving on the scene, officers located and treated Rodriguez who had sustained life-threatening injuries, Capt. Matthew Galante, of the New London Police, said.
Rodriguez, of New London, was transported to Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead, Galante said.
