Shooting At New Haven Train Station Platform: No Active Threat To Metro-North Riders, MTA Says
A dispute between three men on a Metro-Nnorth train led to a shooting on the platform of a Connecticut train station that left one person in critical condition. The incident took place in New Haven County around 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 5 at the New Haven Union Station, said Tim Minton, communications director for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. A preliminary investigation reveals that the victim and two other individuals were on a train when a dispute began that continued on the platform between tracks 12 and 14, where there was gunfire targeting the victim, Minton said. …

Metro-North Service Suspended As Snow Becomes Heavier During Nor'easter
Metro-North trains will be temporarily suspending service as the rate of snowfall during the Nor'easter has become heavier, creating potential travel hazards. MTA officials announced that with major snow accumulation and high winds creating increasingly hazardous travel conditions, Metro-North will shut down service with the last trains departing Grand Central Terminal at approximately 3 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 1. Just 12 days into its eagerly-anticipated reopening, the legendary Grand Central Oyster Bar & Restaurant has been forced to again suspend its operations due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
