New DMV Office Set To Open In Connecticut
The Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles is preparing to open a new customer service office. The new office will be located at at 62 Providence Pike in the Windham County town of Putnam, the DMV said in an announcement on Wednesday, March 9. Funeral Arrangements Set For Firefighter Killed Battling CT House Fire
Funeral arrangements have been set for a Connecticut firefighter who died battling a blaze that broke out in a New Haven home last week. A Catholic service for New Haven firefighter Ricardo Torres, Jr. will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 20 in St. Mary Church on Hillhouse Avenue in New Haven. A burial with full departmental honors will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford. Officials noted that masks will be mandatory while in the church. 19: CT Is No. 1 In Northeast For Vaccine Distribution Rate, Lamont Says
Connecticut is still leading the way in the Northeast in the footrace to get first responders vaccinated for COVID-19, doing so at one of the quickest rates in the nation. During his 120th COVID-19 briefing on Wednesday, Dec. 30, Lamont said that the state has already administered 54,727 doses of the vaccine, the most in the northeast and sixth-most in the entire country.
