Here Comes Elsa: Tropical Storm Will Bring Heavy Rain, Gusty Winds To Region
Tropical Storm Watches have been upgraded to Tropical Storm Warnings along parts of the East Coast as Elsa treks toward the Northeast.
It will arrive in this region starting overnight Thursday, July 8, and bring tropical-storm conditions to portions of New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts, mainly along and near the coast, into Friday, July 9. The storm will be out of the area by around midday Friday.
Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible, including the possibility of flash flooding, though the fast-forward movement of the storm is expected to prevent widespread flooding.

Line Of Thunderstorms, Some Severe, Sweeping Through Region, With Gusty Winds, Hail Possible
A line of thunderstorms, some severe, is sweeping through the region from the west to the east on Tuesday afternoon, June 8.
Storm activity is expected to continue through the afternoon and evening.
Wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour and penny-sized hail are possible.
"There is the potential for heavy rainfall which may produce localized flash flooding," the National Weather Service said in a Hazardous Weather Statement on Tuesday. "Gusty winds and lightning strikes are also threats."

Severe Storms With Damaging Winds, One-Inch Hail On Track To Sweep Through Area
Fay may be out of the way, but a new round of potentially severe thunderstorms is on track to sweep through the area.
Tropical Storm Fay quickly weakened after making landfall on Friday afternoon, July 10 in New Jersey.
But about 24 hours later, on Saturday, July 11, scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop across the area this afternoon into evening, the National Weather Service said.
