Authorities ID Inmate Who Died Following Medical Emergency At CT Prison Officials have identified an inmate who died after a medical emergency inside his cell at the MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution in Suffield. Lehman Blackmon, 48, suffered the medical event Wednesday, Aug. 20, and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, corrections officials said Thursday. Escaped Inmate From Fairfield County Apprehended In Georgia A 31-year-old man who escaped while serving a sentence in Fairfield County for a robbery charge was apprehended in Georgia. The Henry County Sheriff's Office in Georgia announced on Saturday, Oct. 1, that Forenza Rakeem Murphy was arrested. Authorities reported that Murphy left a Connecticut Department of Corrections Halfway House in Bridgeport on Monday, Aug. 8, and had been on the run ever since. "It was a great collaborative effort with The Connecticut DOC that led to the apprehension of Murphy," Henry County Sheriff Reginald Scandrett said in the announcement.

Two Jump From Second-Floor Window To Escape Western Mass Home Fire, FD Says Two residents jumped from a second-floor window to escape a fire that was rapidly spreading through a home in Western Massachusetts. The incident took place around 6::45 a.m., Thursday,  May 27 at a home on Earl Street in Springfield, said the Springfield Fire Department.
