19 People, Dog Rescued From CT Restaurant, Home During Floods Firefighters in Connecticut rescued 19 people and a dog from a restaurant that had been quickly flooded after a severe storm ravaged the area. The incident occurred in New Haven County in Oxford at around 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18, at the Brookside Inn Restaurant and a nearby residence. The rescue occurred when Beacon Falls firefighters responded to calls in Seymour and Oxford to help Oxford crews, who were extraordinarily busy with emergencies throughout town. The fire took place in Norwalk around 7:50 p.m., Friday, Sept. 9, on France Street. The incident happened around 1:50 p.m. Monday, July 4 in New Fairfield. The temperature at the time was approximately 82 degrees, Connecticut State Police said.
