West Nile Virus: First Human Case Of Season Confirmed In CT Woman
The Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) announced a Connecticut woman has tested positive for the first case of the West Nile virus this year. The woman is a resident of New Haven County and is between 50 and 59 years old, DPH said. She became ill during the third week of July with West Nile fever and has since recovered. First Mosquito Pool Of Season Tests Positive For West Nile Virus In Connecticut
The first pool of mosquitos trapped by the State of Connecticut Mosquito Management Program (MMP) has tested positive for West Nile Virus, officials announced. According to the MMP, mosquitoes trapped in Milford on Monday, June 21 tested positive for the virus, marking the first confirmed case of West Nile found in Connecticut this summer.
