A Connecticut man who is charged with manslaughter for allegedly running over and killing a woman on purpose has been arrested again for an alleged sexual assault. The assault occurred in Tolland County in August 2023 in the parking lot of a Coventry commercial business. According to Coventry Police, James Sadlowski, age 31, with no address known, was charged on Tuesday, April 30, after a lengthy investigation into the sexual assault. Man Nabbed 7 Years After Raping CT Woman While Posing As Cop, Police Say
After seven years, a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in Connecticut while posing as a police officer has been caught. Niamkey Amichia, age 33, of Pierce County, Washington, wanted for a New Haven County sexual assault in Waterbury in Nov. 2016, was arrested by the Pierce County Sheriff's Department for an unrelated sexual assault. A Connecticut man has been taken into custody after the belief he was running a narcotics ring in the area led police to search his home. On Tuesday, Dec. 19 in Fairfield County, the Shelton Police Department raided the home of Carlos Baez Jr., age 28. Female Prison Guard Assaulted At Bridgeport Correctional
A prison guard was injured during an assault by an inmate at the Bridgeport Correctional Center. The assault took place in Bridgeport on Wednesday, Aug. 2 when the prisoners grabbed the officer as she conducted routine duties. During the attack, the guard was pushed into a metal storage bin and struck repeatedly, said Ashley McCarthy, director of External Affairs for the Connecticut Department of Corrections. A Connecticut man was arrested after allegedly impersonating an officer in Tolland County and threatening to arrest two victims before offering to have a beer with them, police said. Escaped Inmate From Fairfield County Apprehended In Georgia
A 31-year-old man who escaped while serving a sentence in Fairfield County for a robbery charge was apprehended in Georgia. The Henry County Sheriff's Office in Georgia announced on Saturday, Oct. 1, that Forenza Rakeem Murphy was arrested. Authorities reported that Murphy left a Connecticut Department of Corrections Halfway House in Bridgeport on Monday, Aug. 8, and had been on the run ever since. "It was a great collaborative effort with The Connecticut DOC that led to the apprehension of Murphy," Henry County Sheriff Reginald Scandrett said in the announcement.

A Fairfield County man who admitted to selling dangerous fentanyl pills disguised as pain medication will spend two and a half years in prison. Stratford resident Luis Colon, age 51, was sentenced to 32 months behind bars Tuesday, July 12, in federal court in Hartford. It followed his March 2021 guilty pleas to charges of conspiring to possess and distribute fentanyl, and possession of a firearm by a felon.
