Police Investigate Damage To Facility Housing Ballots For Scheduled Recount Of Fairfield Race
An investigation is underway after a possible break-in at a facility in Fairfield County that holds election equipment and ballots. At around 4:50 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, detectives from the State Police Western District Major Crimes Squad were requested by the Bridgeport State’s Attorney to investigate a reported suspicious incident at the Bigelow Center, located on Mona Terrace in Fairfield. 19: Number Of Positive Cases At High School In Fairfield County Increases To 14
More COVID-19 cases in Fairfield County have been linked to students attending mass gatherings in violation of the state’s COVID-19 mandates. At least 14 positive COVID-19 cases have been linked to Fairfield Ludlowe High School students who attended gatherings, the district announced this week. The number had been at 11 through the weekend, but Schools Superintendent Mike Cummings said that there were three new cases that were identified among students already in quarantine. 19: Cases Linked To High School Parties In Fairfield County
The spike in COVID-19 cases in Town of Fairfield high schools has been linked to several parties and large gatherings that have been attended by students, town officials said. During a briefing this week, Fairfield First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick said that there are six positive COVID-19 cases - five at Fairfield Ludlowe High School and one at Fairfield Prep - that may force upwards of 100 people to quarantine because they may have come into contact with an infected student. 19: Those Who Gather At Closed Recreation Spaces Will Now Be Fined In Fairfield
One Fairfield County town which has closed all of its parks, beaches, and recreational spaces during the COVID-19 pandemic, will begin issuing fines for those who violate the closure. Fairfield Police said they would begin issuing fines on Monday, April 6, to those who visit areas that are closed until further notice.
