Crash On Main Street: Duo Charged With Stealing SUV From Driveway In Ridgefield Two teens were charged with larceny after allegedly stealing an SUV out of a Fairfield County driveway. The incident took place in Ridgefield around 10:40 p.m., on Monday, May 22 on Nutmeg Ridge located off Branchville Road (Route 102). Capt. Jeff Raines of the Ridgefield Police said the department received a call reporting that several individuals were attempting to steal their car. Officers responded to the area and spotted the Atlas take off at a high rate of speed, Raines said. Man Killed After Vehicle Crashes Into Embankment In Fairfield County A man was killed after his vehicle left the roadway and struck an embankment in Fairfield County. Carl Whitbeck, age 43, of Ridgefield, was killed around 2 p.m., Thursday, July 29 during the crash on Branchville Road in Ridgefield.
