Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont said in his latest COVID-19 update that 11,448 tests were administered in the past 24 hours, with just 58 coming back positive.
The 0.5 percent positive infection rate is the lowest to date, Lamont said.
There are currently 100 people hospitalized with COVID-19 statewide, an increase of two, and there were two new virus-related fatalities.
To date, there have been 44,593 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Connecticut since the pandemic began, resulting in 4,324 deaths.
In Fairfield County, there have been 16,078 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 1,070 patients dying from the virus. In Litchfield County, there have been 1,427 COVID-19 cases that led to 117 residents dying from the virus.
A breakdown of patients currently hospitalized in Connecticut, by county, according to the Department of Health:
- Hartford: 32;
- Fairfield: 31;
- New Haven: 28;
- Middlesex: 7;
- New London: 2;
- Litchfield: 0;
- Tolland: 0;
- Windham: 0.
