Drunk Driver Slams Into CT Home; BAC Nearly 3 Times Legal Limit
Authorities say a Connecticut drunk driver went off the road overnight, hit a utility pole, and then slammed into a home around 1:45 a.m.
Jose Martinez, 30, of Waterbury, faces multiple charges following the Wednesday, Jan. 7, crash near 1021 Pearl Lake Road in Waterbury, police said.
Officers were called after Martinez’s Jeep Grand Cherokee lost control, hit a utility pole, and then struck the home. Martinez was the sole occupant of the vehicle, and no one inside the home was injured, police said.

A 51-year-old Connecticut man who police say crashed his car into a telephone pole while having twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system was arrested late last week, authorities said.
Jonathan Beck, of New Milford, was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, failure to maintain the proper lane, and reckless endangerment, according to Connecticut State Police. He was arrested Friday, April 11.
